GUIDANCE UPDATES - JANUARY 8

It’s course selection time for the 2024-2025 school year!

During the month of January and February we will focus on choosing courses for the following school year.

We wanted to give you some information that will help students select their courses.

 

HOW DO STUDENTS CHOOSE THEIR COURSES?

Through myBlueprint.

Students will need to log in.  Instructions are in the google folder (see below).

 

DEADLINES

Course Selection Opens in myBlueprint: Tuesday, February 15 (9:00am)

Course Selection Deadline: Friday, February 23 (3:00pm)

 

ACCESS THE GOOGLE DRIVE AND RESOURCES

**The most important source of information for students.  Parents/Guardians will need to work with your student to access the drive.  Students will find everything they need here.

Reminder:  Students must access with their Gapps account.

 

COURSE SELECTION ASSEMBLY

All students will attend a “Course Selection Assembly” in the cafeteria.  The assembly will cover all the information required to make educated decisions on course selection for the next year’s grade level. 

Tuesday, January 9

Period 1 - Grade 11s and 12s

Period 2 - Grade 9s and 10s

Note:  If students have a spare during this period, they will need to make arrangements to come to the caf during the appropriate time.

If students would like some more in depth information about courses, they can drop into one of these sessions.

REMINDER - OPTING OUT OF THE TWO REQUIRED ONLINE LEARNING CREDITS

What is the Online Learning Graduation Requirement?

All students must earn at least two online learning credits as part of the requirements for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)unless they have opted out or been exempted.

 

How do I opt out?

1.     Opt out through myBlueprint during Course Selection time.

2.     Pick up a paper copy of the opt out form from the guidance office, fill it in, and return it to the guidance secretary, Ms. Han.

**GRADE 12 STUDENTS**




















IF THE GRADE 12 STUDENT IS NOT RETURNING TO WESTMOUNT, THEY NEED TO GO INTO MYBLUEPRINT AND CLICK ON “NOT RETURNING”.  THEY CAN DO THIS ON FEBRUARY 15. SET A REMINDER.
