Halloween Spirit Day
Halloween Spirit
Day: Tuesday, October 31 Our next school spirit day being organized at WCI by our
Spirit and Art Councils will celebrate the fun of Halloween. For
students who choose to participate, they are encouraged to participate in our
celebration of Halloween and to wear a fun, creative, and attention-grabbing
costume. To help students prepare for the day we have included
guidelines they must consider when selecting their costume. |
Prohibited costumes that should not be worn to school include:
- Costumes that interfere with learning. Costumes cannot restrict movement or vision, prevent sitting at desks, or prevent participation in physical education class.
- Masks. We need to see faces and to know who is in the school building.
- Weapons and/or replica weapons should not be carried as accessories. Costumes also should not simulate a weapon or promote extreme acts of violence.
- Costumes insulting to a particular ethnicity, religion or gender.
- Costumes that promote the use of drugs or alcohol.
- Costumes that violate conditions of the BHSS appropriate attire policy.
Please Remember:
This is still a school day. Students are advised to bring a
change of clothing, in case their costume is deemed inappropriate by teachers
or administrators or become distracting to the learning process. We are
looking forward to everyone following the guidelines, coming up with creative
costumes, and having fun!
